-Can I make an appointment?

Yes! We take both appointments and walk-ins. Appointments do take priority, so it never hurts to give us a call! We currently do not take appointments online.

-Can I request a certain stylist?

Absolutely! Whether you make an appointment or walk-in, you can always request your favorite stylist to cut your child’s hair, though this can result in an additional wait without an appointment. But not all of our stylists are here every day, so give us a call and we can let you know when to come in to see your favorite person.

-My son hates haircuts. He screams, kicks and throws a huge fit. What can I do to stop it?

Between two and three are the worst years for haircuts for some kids. We’ve seen children kick, throw things and scream like they are being tortured. We assure you that they are not. It’s usually just a part of the “terrible twos” that has to be outgrown. All we can recommend is paying attention to your child’s triggers and what calms him. Maybe he hates the buzzer, or is afraid of the blow-dryer, or is calmed by his favorite snack or toy. Let us know what helps or hinders and we will do our best to make the experience as painless as possible (for you and the child!).

If all else fails, we are used to it, and will complete the process as quickly as possible.

-Do you style hair?

We do! If you have a style in mind, bring a picture, it’s the best way to ensure that you and the stylist are on the same page. If you are not sure what you want, we are always full of ideas!

-Is highlighting a child’s hair safe?

We wouldn’t do it if we had any reason to believe it could harm a child. We don’t recommend it on children under 8, mostly because they can’t sit still long enough! Our method of highlighting minimizes contact with the skin, making the process safe and painless.

-What is a “regular” haircut, and why is a bob cut more expensive?

We consider a regular cut to be any one of our most common requests: any boy cut, a blunt cut or layers for girls. A bob cut is additional because we must blow dry the hair to be sure that the layers fall correctly.

-Do you do anything for a child's first haircut?

Yes! We have First Haircut Certificates on which we will write your child's name and when the haircut happened, we will save as much hair as you want and can even take a Polaroid picture to save the memory! The certificate is free of charge but we do charge a small fee for the picture. Please let us know ahead of time if you have special religious preferences or if you need to save all of the hair.

-How old/young are your clients?

We can cut anyone's hair, from infant to elderly! We have regular chairs for older kids, adults or babies too young to sit on their own, cars with seatbelts for the younger kids and big cars for the big kids.

-I made an appointment and still had to wait, why?

There are several reasons that could cause an appointment to have to wait. If you are late for an appointment, we will take you as soon as possible, but there may be other appointments that will be given priority. Usually your wait will not be longer than 15 minutes, but to avoid delay as much as possible, it is best to arrive a few minutes early. Sometimes we have a rush of walk-ins, which can cause a slight delay, but on-time appointments are still given priority. If other appointments run late, that can also cause a delay, but we try to inform you upon check-in.

-Why couldn't my daughter sit on the motorcycle?

She may have been too big or too small, too fidgety or the haircut may have required a little more stability. If she has her heart set on a particular styling chair and the stylist says she can't do it, we can always check to see if another stylist can. But, if it is a safety issue, we can not compromise, and we ask for your understanding.

-My child's haircut is not what I requested. What do I do now?

No matter how skilled the stylist, every now and again, a client isn't happy. We ask that you always let us know if you are not satisfied with a haircut and we will do our best to fix it. We don't want anyone to walk away unhappy. We do request, however, that you let us know within three days and come back within a week.

-Why couldn't my child play on or with the styling chair while she waited for her turn?

There are a few reasons why we do not allow the children to play on the styling chairs; number one is safety. The chairs are a few feet off the ground and while they may have once been toys, they are not meant to be played roughly with anymore. They swivel and are not nailed to the ground, making it easy for someone to get hurt using them improperly. Second, if one child is sitting in a chair, even quietly, other children will want to play with them. Also, it is distracting to our stylists to have children other than current customers in the chairs. Last, the smaller ones tend to stay entertained longer in the cars during their haircuts of they have not been playing with or in them beforehand. We understand that it can be hard to say no to your child when they really want to play with something, but we appreciate your cooperation.

-How do I determine what products to use on my child's hair?

We carry a variety of products designed to style, condition, and clean your child's hair, but since every head of hair and personal style is different, you should consult with one of our stylists to determine which product is best for your needs.

-How long does a haircut take?

Generally, a haircut takes about fifteen minutes. But a bob cut, shampooing, styling, blow-drying, very thick hair, step cuts and certain other styles will take a little longer. If time is a concern, either because we are working with an impatient child or because you have to be done at a certain time, please let the stylist know before she begins the haircut.

-Are you going to be closed for the upcoming holiday?

We only close for Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Fourth of July and Thanksgiving. We do close early on certain holidays, based on how busy we are. If you are planning to come in on a holiday, please give us a call to make sure we will be open regular hours.

-What chairs do you have for the children to sit in for their haircut?

We currently have a Barbie Jeep, a pink Lexus, a Monster Jeep, a lion, a horse, two regular styling chairs, a Harley, a police motorcycle, a little yellow VW Bug and a little red car, similar to the Wiggles car. Pictures of most of our chairs can be seen here.

-My child has a disability, do you have experience with special needs?

We do! We understand that a haircut can be particularly difficult for people with special needs and we do our best to be gentle and quick. We take disabled adults, too!
